Tower Grove Residence

The Tower Grove Residence is a stunning example of how thoughtful design can transform an old house into a modern masterpiece. Originally featuring low ceilings, small doors, and a kidney-shaped pool, this mid-century home lacked any indoor-outdoor connection. By opening up walls, removing a bedroom to expand living space, and introducing large floor-to-ceiling windows, we created a seamless flow between indoors and outdoors.

Design Transformation

One of the main challenges was the outdated layout and lack of natural light. We addressed this by removing walls and expanding the main living areas. The ceilings were raised, and new skylights were added to brighten the space. The old kidney-shaped pool was replaced with a sleek infinity pool that integrates beautifully with the backyard.

Entertaining Excellence

To create a great space for entertaining, I used two posts to frame the wine cellar and designed a floating bar that serves as a functional centerpiece. The bar features a trough on the top for ice and champagne. Doors open on both sides, providing easy access to drinks and glasses, adding to the fun and convenience of hosting gatherings.

Key Features

  • Infinity Pool: A modern pool that seamlessly blends with the backyard, providing a stunning focal point.
  • Floor-to-Ceiling Windows: Large windows flood the interior with natural light and offer unobstructed views.
  • Backyard Privacy: Mature landscaping ensures privacy while maximizing outdoor living space. The illuminated olive tree in the backyard becomes a focal point at night, creating a unique visual.
  • Custom Furniture: Unique, adaptable pieces maintain the flow of design and functionality.
  • We Increased Room Height: Structural changes create the illusion of higher ceilings, enhancing the feeling of space and luxury. Personal Touches Despite being a mid-sized home, the Tower Grove Residence includes luxurious elements typically found in high-end properties. Not all finishes are top-tier in cost; we skillfully used cost-effective materials to achieve a luxurious look, ensuring both elegance and practicality.
